From our labs, for your heart
Cardiovascular research for tomorrow
Collaboration is our greatest strength
Dalton houses molecular and cell biologists, biochemists, bioengineers, electrophysiologists and integrative physiologists from the School of Medicine, and colleges of Engineering, Health Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, and Arts and Science.
A critical mass of researchers
Microcirculation, neural control, membrane transport and cardiac function are all part of our focus. It is rare to find this within the same building, working together to discover biological mechanisms related to human health and disease.
Training graduate students
We are teachers at heart from across Mizzou. Those academic units gain access to research facilities, resources and laboratory space that would otherwise be unavailable to them. That adds to Mizzou's recruitment and retention efforts.
In-house small animal expertise
Phenotyping at your fingertips
Dalton houses instrumentation and expertise for that allows for study of cardiovascular function, cystic fibrosis, stroke, neurological diseases, and aspects of behavior and learning from the whole animal to the single cell. Our small animal services offer resources to Mizzou researchers, collaborating institutions and industry partnerships on a fee-for-service basis.
